SouthRoads is currently completing roadworks near the Dunedin Railway Station, towards the entrance of the Otago Farmers Market area, on Anzac Avenue.

The Dunedin Railway Station is the most photographed building in Dunedin and one of the main tourist attractions. The Otago Farmers Market sees over 50-70 vendors arrive at the carpark next to Dunedin Railway Station each Saturday, so the roadworks have been noticed by a lot of Dunedin locals and tourists alike.

The project is part of the addition of a cycle lane on Anzac Avenue, making the area safer for cyclists and all road users as a whole, particularly with a lot of traffic (road, cycle and foot) going to the Train Station or Farmers Market. There may be some minor disruptions with the project, but no real major disruptions. The project has included site works and excavation, the levelling of the site, and asphalt.
