Russell started working with SouthRoads in 2008. He brings over 30 years of management experience to his role as HR and Health and Safety Manager, working with both large and small teams.
For Russell, it’s about bringing people together to make positive change for each other and the communities in which we work. He really enjoys helping to bring out the best in each and every member of the team. He thinks it’s important to treat others how you would like to be treated, and that this extends into every facet of your life; your clients, the team, community and your family.
Russell finds it incredibly rewarding to be able to say, ‘look, we built that!’ and to create something both physical and long-lasting that will create positive change and a difference in peoples’ lives. He loves that, through SouthRoads, the general public and families have safer journeys, or perhaps reduced drive time on the road. He enjoys that SouthRoads nurture staff, help them achieve and reach their potential. From showing a new SouthRoads team member to work safely through to helping someone at SouthRoads pass their Civil Engineering Diploma that makes his day.
Outside of work, Russell enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Like a lot of people in New Zealand, he’s a big fan of getting outdoors.
