Kirk Given

Kirk has been with SouthRoads since November 2004 after doing a two-year diploma in civil engineering at Otago Polytechnic. He started in an entry-level role, and within four to five months moved into the office, where his role slowly progressed from planning and pricing driveways to working on major projects such as well-known sports grounds around Southland and infrastructure upgrades for Fonterra at Edendale.

Kirk likes seeing a project through from start to finish and the variety of work that each project brings. He’s worked with a lot of good people over the years and enjoys looking back and being able to say, ‘we built this’. He enjoys doing quality work and if the client is happy, he’s happy.

Outside of work, Kirk enjoys spending time with his family, playing rugby, getting outside and doing a bit of DIY.
