Stuart started his career as a civil engineer in 1989 working in network management and maintenance contracts. He joined SouthRoads in 1994, starting as a Maintenance Contract Manager and Siteworks Manager. In 2000, he moved into the role of Surfacing Manager. From 2002 to 2014 Stuart worked as Road Maintenance Manager for the Southland Region and from 2014 has been the Contract Manager for the Southland Network Outcomes Contract with the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA).
For Stuart, it’s the people that really make SouthRoads such a good company to work for. The variety of work in his day to day is rewarding, as is achieving annual deliverables.
Outside of work, Stuart enjoys mountain biking, particularly trail bike riding and enjoys pushing his 50cc scooter to go as fast as possible.
