Luke Hamilton

Queenstown Divisional Manager

Luke began working for SouthRoads in December 2009, straight after finishing high school, and with the help of SouthRoads completed his Civil Engineering Diploma in 2012. During that time, he continued to work when needed at SouthRoads Dunedin and once finished his Diploma, he completed a year at Invercargill SouthRoads driving trucks and transitioning into the office, as a Project Manager. In February 2015, he shifted to Queenstown and worked on the Shotover Country Subdivision and other roading projects.

He’s very appreciative of the opportunities, guidance, and support he’s received from SouthRoads. He’s incredibly grateful of the trust they have given him to shift to Queenstown and start establishing the business here. While other businesses might baulk at his age, SouthRoads have given him the skills and support through training and development to really thrive and lead in his position.

Luke finds it rewarding to see a project through to completion and to see people using it in their day-to-day lives. A highlight has been to see the Shotover Country subdivision through to completion, from a green paddock to a bustling community of over 800 houses, with so many people and families using the services SouthRoads helped to establish.

Outside of work, Luke enjoys spending time in the great outdoors, jet boating, water skiing, mountain biking, fishing, and hunting.
