Project Description:

Millbrook West Development is the expansion of the existing Millbrook Resort which required extensive roading, infrastructure and golf course construction from a green field’s site.

SouthRoads involvement included the construction and asphalting of 4 kilometres of new private roading and courtyards including associated infrastructure and an additional 2.3 kilometres of footpaths constructed as a part of the golf course development. The project was completed in close proximity to existing residential dwellings and through a wetlands area.

SouthRoads crews worked alongside many other contractors, under tight timeframe and required work to continue through the winter period in challenging conditions with low sunshine hours and frequent snow falls.

Crews and staff from all SouthRoads divisions were involved in aspects of the contract and their efforts critical to its successful completion.

Environmental:

Within the construction area a large wetland area and stream needed careful consideration and protection from sediment run-off during the project duration. Along with this the large areas of exposed earthworks needed constant watering to ensure environmental requirements were adhered to.
